Robert Eggers Reunites With Previous Collaborators For Werwulf
Werwulf is the latest film from Eggers, whose previous work includes The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman, and Nosferatu.
Eggers made his feature directorial debut with The Witch, a period horror film set in 1630s New England. He followed that with The Lighthouse, starring Dafoe and Robert Pattinson as two lighthouse keepers living in isolation.
Eggers later directed The Northman, a Viking revenge film starring Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, and Dafoe. The film was written by Eggers and Sjón, who reunite as writers on Werwulf.
Werwulf also brings Eggers back together with cast members from Nosferatu, which starred Depp, Nicholas Hoult, Bill Skarsgård, Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, and Dafoe. Taylor-Johnson, Depp, and Dafoe all appear in Werwulf, continuing their collaborations with Eggers.
Taylor-Johnson is known for roles in Kick-Ass, Bullet Train, Nocturnal Animals, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and The Fall Guy. Dafoe’s film credits include Platoon, Spider-Man, The Florida Project, Poor Things, The Lighthouse, and The Northman. Depp has appeared in The King, The Idol, Voyagers, and Nosferatu.
Werwulf will release in theaters on Dec. 25, 2026.
