Jeremy Allen White stars as Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic.

20th Century Studios is bringing one of rock’s most intimate stories to the big screen. Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere stars Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen and chronicles the creation of Nebraska, the Boss’s raw and emotional 1982 album. The film opens exclusively in theaters on October 24, 2025.
Directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Hostiles), the movie is adapted from Warren Zanes’ acclaimed book Deliver Me from Nowhere. The story explores Springsteen’s personal and creative crossroads at a time when he was on the verge of becoming a global icon yet still wrestling with ghosts from his past.
“Making Springsteen was deeply moving,” said Cooper in a statement. “It allowed me to step inside the soul of an artist I’ve long admired—to witness, up close, the vulnerability and strength behind his music.”
Behind the Music: The Making of Nebraska
Unlike Springsteen’s stadium-filling anthems, Nebraska was recorded solo on a 4-track tape deck in his bedroom. Stark, stripped-down and soaked in Americana, the album became a cult classic, deeply influencing generations of artists.

The film will capture the solitude and soul-searching behind that recording process. Focusing on memory, myth, and raw emotion, Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere promises a character-driven drama as powerful as the music that inspired it.
A Star-Studded Cast of Collaborators and Confidants
Fresh off his Emmy-winning performance in The Bear, Jeremy Allen White takes on the iconic role of Bruce Springsteen. The film also stars:
- Jeremy Strong as Jon Landau, Springsteen’s trusted manager and creative partner
- Paul Walter Hauser as Mike Batlan, Springsteen’s guitar tech
- Stephen Graham as Doug Springsteen, Bruce’s father
- Odessa Young as Faye, a fictional love interest
- Gaby Hoffmann as Adele Springsteen, Bruce’s mother
- Marc Maron as producer Chuck Plotkin
- David Krumholtz as Columbia Records executive Al Teller

From the Studio Behind Bohemian Rhapsody and Elvis
Produced by Scott Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson, and Scott Stuber, this biopic follows in the footsteps of other prestige music dramas. Executive producers include Tracey Landon, Jon Vein, and Warren Zanes himself.
