Selena Gomez directs the four-part event as the Russo family reunites for their biggest magical battle yet.

Disney has revealed the first details about the four-part finale event for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, including the return of two fan-favorite characters from the original series.
Jennifer Stone will reprise her role as Harper Finkle, while Gregg Sulkin will return as Mason Greyback. The newly revealed first look shows the characters stepping back into the magical world of the Russo family.
The finale event will begin with a four-episode marathon on Tuesday, August 4, at 8 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel. The episodes will also be available through Disney Channel On Demand.
All four episodes will arrive on Disney+ on Wednesday, August 5.
Billie Must Reunite Her Family to Save Alex Russo
The finale continues directly after the events of the second season.

Billie is still struggling with the loss of Alex Russo when she learns that saving her mother may still be possible. However, the rescue mission requires Billie to find and reunite with her long-lost father.
As Billie’s family comes together to search for Alex, she begins to understand the importance of their shared magical abilities. Their combined power may be the only force strong enough to defeat the evil threatening the Russo family.
The storyline will place Billie’s family history at the center of the finale while bringing several generations of Wizards characters together.
Selena Gomez Makes Her Directorial Debut
Selena Gomez will make her directorial debut with the premiere episode of the finale event.

Gomez also serves as an executive producer on Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. She will reprise her role as Alex Russo in multiple episodes throughout the four-part event.
Alex played a major role in the revival’s first two seasons, helping Justin Russo guide Billie as she learned to control her magical abilities.
The finale now places Alex in danger and gives Billie, Justin, and the rest of the Russo family a personal reason to unite.
Harper Finkle and Mason Greyback Return
The event will feature the long-awaited return of Jennifer Stone as Harper Finkle.

Harper was Alex’s best friend throughout the original Wizards of Waverly Place series. Although she did not possess magical powers, she frequently became involved in the Russo family’s supernatural adventures.
Gregg Sulkin will also return as Mason Greyback. The werewolf character was introduced as one of Alex’s most important romantic relationships during the original series.
The return of Harper and Mason will add even more familiar faces to the finale as the revival continues, connecting its new characters with the original Disney Channel show.
Maria Canals-Barrera will also return as Theresa Russo, the mother of Alex, Justin, and Max Russo.
Billie’s Father Joins the Finale
Brandon Micheal Hall will guest star as Damien Penwulf, Billie’s long-lost father.
Damien will become a key part of Billie’s mission after she discovers that reuniting with him may be the only way to rescue Alex. His arrival will also reveal more about Billie’s family and magical background.
Hall joins a guest cast that includes Jennifer Stone as Harper Finkle, Gregg Sulkin as Mason Greyback, and Maria Canals-Barrera as Theresa Russo.
Ramon Reed will appear as Silas Evilini, while Tobias Jelinek will portray Lord Morsus.
The Russo Family Returns for One Final Battle
David Henrie leads the series as Justin Russo, who has built a new life and family since the events of the original show.

The main cast also includes Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo.
Together, the characters will face a magical threat that requires the entire family to combine its powers.
The finale’s story appears designed to bring the revival’s central relationships together while also celebrating the characters who helped make the original series a Disney Channel favorite.
Wizards of Waverly Place Continues With a New Generation
Wizards of Waverly Place originally aired from 2007 to 2012.
The series followed Alex, Justin, and Max Russo as they dealt with school, family, and adolescence while training to become powerful wizards. Their magical lessons often created unexpected problems inside and outside the family’s New York sandwich shop.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place continues the story through Justin and a new generation of young characters.
The revival has connected with both returning viewers and younger audiences discovering the Russo family for the first time.
The complete first two seasons of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place are currently streaming on Disney+.
